Snowman

Personal Project

Left atop a mountain, a solitary snowman waits to be discovered. I wanted this project to convey the paradoxical nature of winter, the calmness of snow covered grounds juxtaposed with raging snowstorms.

This project was created in a measly 3 days for a competition. I used procedural noise to create the snow. Consisting of subsurface scattering and displacement, the workflow allowed precise control where it was needed while saving time on menial tasks.

It allowed me to focus on composition and lighting which I experimented a ton with. I wanted a sem-three point lighting system so I opted to use a glowstick to achieve the effect while using the bright spotlight as a rimlight.
